Fractal thingy 544

It's too green to be the end of something.... But a year ago I had a project I had for one of my classes where we had to evaluate the logistics of mining in a particular region of Brazil. From far it looked so green and forest filled. Then when zooming in close enough on google earth property fences and cleared land came onto focus. Forest existed, but in rectangular reserves surrounded by farms and dirt roads, it was a bit sad looking. There were obviously large regions of unspoiled forest too. But deforestation is a serious problem too... Cutting down a tropical rainforest and replacing it wih crops is absolute destruction of biodiversity. And the poor forest soil isn't even that rich, so once it is farmed for a few years, it becomes barren and needs to either be fertilized or abandoned.

Either way environment rant is over. I made a spits fractal with rectangles instead of squares. I feel clever now :p
