Sorry, lame tittle, but it just jumped at me the moment I looked at it.

When magma cools not all mineral form at the same time since they all fave different stability fields and melting temperatures. As a result they first few minerals seen are things like olivine, pyroxen and plagioclase. Then others like biotite and potasium feldspar. Finally once of the last major minerals to crystalize is quartz.

*Note none of these minerals are too pink (except potassium feldspar, but thats more of a gross salmon pink that I avoid)
