Reminds me or brain coral
Its species name is Diploria Labyrinthiformis. Its because the coral's grooves make complex maze of lines. One of the largest brain coral colonies in the world is in Trinidad and Tobago. I've never seen it, but I've read that it is about 10ms across. Normally when I see brain coral it is in small mounds 6 inches across and dead of course.... The waters around Tobago may be clean and clear, but around Trinidad the water is turbid and not to salty. Coral is fussy it hates sediment, deep water, nutrients (their symbionts abandon them if there is too much) and they like water to be in a nice narrow band of salinity. Trinidad coral is less than impressive as far as I've seen so far.
I'm having fun with my Julian+Julianscope combos. They make the fun maze shapes.
